Kids Art Jamming Birthday Parties

To all you parents out there who are thinking of throwing your kid a one-of-a-kind birthday party, we’ve got the perfect solution for you! If you have kids between the age of 6 – 12 who loves to colour the house walls, tables and curtains, rest assured ART JAMMING is the PERFECT solution for your kid’s birthday party.

For the benefit of readers who are unaware of what art jamming is, let us explain to you in layman’s term before proceeding. Using only painting materials, let your imagination run free as you explore your own creativity from within. With a portion of paint and imagination, create magic and let the party begin! If you wish, you may read our previous article where we speak more in depth about it, here!

When it comes to art jamming, there isn’t any rule to it and let us tell you, that is the BEST part of it! Let your child be in control, take charge of decisions and be independent for once. Let them make their own mistakes and discover what works best for them, through paint of course! Needing only minimal supervision and tons of encouragement, this is the best kind of activity for kids of all ages. The best part on your end? You wouldn’t be required to constantly be on your feet thinking how to entertain a bunch of kids, they would be occupied for a good 90 minutes at least!

When they say “A picture speaks a thousand words”, let us just remind you about how true (although cliche) that phrase is. The painting a child creates will reflect their inner thoughts, feelings and even emotions. Whether they are happy, sad or angry, it can be shown through their artwork to a certain extent. What better way for them to release their inner demons, princess or warrior through paint and paper!

Now, now you must be screaming in your heads, “How am I going to allow this to happen at home?” Calm down, drink some tea if it floats your boat and be prepared to bookmark this page! While all you need are blank canvases, paint, aprons and a bunch of kids for this to happen, let us plant more ideas in your head.

Now, the first thing you would want to source before making this happen is the location, unless you’re open to making a mess in your own home 😛 . You might want to think about having this in your backyard if it is big enough. If you’re worried about the unpredictable weather, think about having it in an event space. PS: Do note that not all event spaces will be open to getting paint stuck on their walls. For a list of event spaces in the Klang Valley, do check our website out, here!

The second thing on your list would be to source for supplies, the more affordable the better! To make it simple for you, here’s a list of things you would need to buy:

  • Paint – preferably edible, just in case kids consume it by accident
  • Blank canvas / thick quality art blocks
  • Easel (optional)
  • Apron
  • Paint brushes / sponges

For your convenience, here’s also a few places you might want to check out for art supplies – Spotlight, Czip Lee, Art Friend. Be sure to check out their physical store for a better variety.

Last but not least, you need the KIDS! Go nuts and invite your neighbour’s children, your child’s kindergarten friends and if you wish you could even get their mums to help you out.

If this is all too much to handle, we’ve got the perfect solution for you. Don’t forget to thank us later! 😉
