Located an easy distance off the North Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) in the Setia Alam Township, Setia City Convention Centre (the Centre) exemplifies a lifestyle concept true to their tagline LiveLearnWorkPlay. Even at the onset of construction, it showcased the very best of being green. This led to it being the first Convention Centre to be certified for the Green Building Index (GBI).
The jewel of the Centre is definitely their Grand Ballroom. Sitting expansively at the ground floor, it can house up to a whopping 2,000 banquet-style or 3,000 theatre style seated guests. The large 2,000 over sqm area can be partitioned off to accommodate smaller events or lesser number of persons. They boast of having had juggled 3 different functions at the Ballroom, simultaneously!
As though it needs more accompaniments, its welcome area, accommodates a thousand guests at a time. The foyer is bathed with natural light as it is encased in a glass paneling and overlooks lush scenery of green.
Green Fact: The glass window at the foyer, made up of many conjoined vertical glass panels, is of the standard industrial 1 meter length in width. The one-meter paneling are cost effective to put up (or change if any one of it breaks) than an expensive customized one.
Event packages at the Centre especially celebratory ones, come with basic decorations with no surcharge involved – backdrops, flower arrangements, pedestals etc. are available. Moreover, their in-house decorating service personnel are flexible to work closely with external decorators should the need arises.
Clients will additionally be allocated one member of their team member who specialises and understands the ins and outs of the different cultures in Malaysia. For instance, there will be one person who handles Malay functions, another, Chinese functions and so on. This is so that the client’s’ cultural expectations are met and respected.
Conference and meeting organisers will be spoilt for choice when it comes to their lunch as the Centre provides meals for their guests at their participating outlets that are located at Setia City Mall. Currently, the Centre has partnered with T.G.I Fridays, Food & Co. and Fatburger.
The Centre has partnered with various reputable caterers to provide an array of cuisines customized to suit’s ones taste and preference. Your choices of scrumptious Malay, Chinese or Indian cuisine complete with free flow of non-alcoholic beverages are also included.
Green Fact: By not having its own in-house operational kitchen, the team at the Centre and clients can together ensure a set amount of food is prepared for a set amount of guests – not any more or any less, preventing wastage. Having an in-house kitchen would also mean a limited variety of food is given as options to clients. Furthermore, the Centre need not invest its efforts and costs needed for F&B services and instead channel its resources where it is well-versed in.
The mezzanine floor at the Centre is equally promising. They have 8 functions rooms and a large boardroom with a seating capacity up to 12pax. The rooms borrow natural light from the top-to-bottom glass paneling and so portray an easy yet professional ambiance. Completely fitted, the entire floor is fully WIFI powered and is for any kind of business events – training, launches, conferences, meetings, workshops, seminars etc.
Apart from its exquisite architecture and interior, Setia City Convention Centre offer nothing short of a panoramic view of the beautifully landscaped gardens that are perfect for small intimate gatherings, team building and family day.
